Blind Kitty Lost in S.F. Turns Up in NYC

Why do cats do mysterious things?

The rule of thumb is very simple. Any expert will tell you: If your cat is missing, she’s most likely close by … like in the garage next door. Cats don’t go far.

Tell that to Jack Daniels.

This almost blind cat was just a kitten when someone abducted him from the San Francisco SPCA in January 2009.

More than a year and a half later, on July 31, a black cat was found wandering the streets of East Harlem in New York City and taken to the nearby city shelter. He was in “fairly decent condition,” according to Animal Care & Control Spokesman Richard Gentles.

The shelter scans all new arrivals for a microchip, and the cat showed up as Jack Daniels, registered to the San Francisco SPCA.

The S.F. SPCA contacted Dr. Jennifer Gabriele, a veterinarian in New York City who had formerly worked with them, to ask if she knew anyone who might be able fly out to San Francisco. Jennifer happened to be on the phone with LeeAnn Falciani, a book designer and volunteer veterinary assistant. LeeAnn said she’d be happy to do the honors. Jet Blue offered the twosome a free flight, and Kimpton Hotels gave LeeAnn three days at one of their hotels.

Jack Daniels had been brought into the San Francisco shelter along with his brother, Jim Beam. Jim was adopted last year. Jack is now up for adoption to a good home – preferably not thousands of miles away.

Cats are living Souls, who, unlike many of us, are in tune with God and their Spirituality. This is what allows them to do such amazing things....because they and dogs and other companion animals, are, literally and figuratively, Angels sent to live, love, be loved, and enjoy life, and at the same time, teach us human animals that nothing is impossible, and that love is all that matters. The soul doesnt follow the physical "rule of thumb"....physical limitations......the soul bends the physical, expands it, removes it, and defeats it. The soul is limitless and knows no bounds.
That is how cats do what they do, which is seemingly physically impossible... they do it with their souls, and then the impossible becomes possible.
