Rescued Birds Get Warm Sweaters

Sunny the chicken had lost most of her feathers when she was rescued and rehomed from a factory farm in England.

So Amy Leader, who runs Ribbons Circus, a men’s clothing store in West Yorkshire, organized a “knit-in” for Sunny and the other chickens who had been rescued. Leader and a group of her friends gathered at the store, knitting needles in hand.

“It went really well,” Leader told local media. “We had about 60 jumpers completed on the day with more people finishing them off at home. “What’s especially nice is that all these jumpers will stay locally and go to local people who are rehoming these chickens.”
