Twenty-Four Hours Above the Indian Ocean

High above the Indian ocean, a geo-stationary  Russian weather satellite captures high-resolution photos of the planet. Videographer James Drake has put the images together into a series of time-lapse videos. Here are two of them. Drake describes what you are seeing thus:
